Football vandalism has been being common since football matches were played in front of audience.
Vandalism and the damage done by the hooligans are frequent in Hungary, but so are abroad. As the contrast fills the air at for example our Fradi-Újpest matches, people become aggressive and this behavior's consequences can be really serious, sometimes tear gas and policemen’s batons were needed to stop the insanity.
The mind of some people could be really blown away with the energy comes out from the football pitch, but these hooligans are not real fans of this sport. On one hand, they cannot feel the spirit of the game, just want to release their stress in a non-healthy and inappropriate way.
On the other hand, they attend the matches in big groups, so they feel free to consume alcohol or perhaps drugs which just make them more aggressive.
In my opinion, the campaign "Support, don't fight" is not of any help, because the vandals will not take it serious, however the true fans cannot help spamming it. But honestly, what is in it that turns their deaf ears to the cries of the true fans' suffering?
This issue maybe could be solved, if the local police would set some battalions and the people, who had vandalized at the matches before, should not be allowed to attend. Maybe a well-organized society of foodball federations and fanclubs could keep the spectators under control too. However, the hooligans are like a loose cannon, so it can be possible, that sometimes Interpol's intervention is needed.
